I just put a quick satin black paint job on my motorcycle so I could get it back on the road for a while. The bodywork still needs to be super straight of course or the flat effect looks like your trying to hide something and it'll show bigtime. I'll get a couple pics soon,
After bodywork I used the normal PPG epoxy primer, sanded that perfect with 400 wet and then sprayed a few coats (3-4) of PPG's DBU 9700 black. I like the DBU cause it's a reactive cureing paint that can be controlled during shooting, nibs and little problems can be sanded out within minutes and then recoated quickly. Then on went 3 or 4 full coats of PPG's Flex "N" Flat Clear DCU2060 with 1 part DCX 61 to 6 parts clear.
Let that dry overnight and the next day I was in the wind again!.
or you could just use Sems trim black and recoat here and there as needed since you need not worry about gas spilling on it.
