The 12 blower diesel deal has to be running on alky. Pretty outrageous. Having a hard time counting all 12 blowers...

Factory Advertising

That photo of the SBC a few pages back reminded me of a pic that Chrysler in Australia published in the magazines of the day promoting there new engine.

This one is kind of interesting. It's a Russian made JSC Zvezda M503 42 cyl inline-radial water cooled OHC diesel engine. Seven banks of six cylinders. 10,000 HP. Originality used in a military patrol boat. Built in the seventies.
Raced in Sweden.
Pity Ivan when he had to adjust the valves!

Hot rodding at it's earliest. Take one BMW V 12 47 ltr. 750 hp surplus aircraft engine and one engine less 1908 American-LaFrance chassis and you can become the fastest kid on the block.
Check out the video.

Don't want to get off topic- this is a great thread- but thought I'd mention THIS engine design, something akin to the opposed engine design shown above. This was put on the Crankshaft Coalition wiki a while ago by "Inventor". There's a bit of a disconnect in the text- I don't believe English is Inventor's first language.

I LOVE the Brutus, WILD! And those experimental engines, I dig them too. I saw the "Opposed cylinder" engine before at the Goodguys. In the building with the miniature motors some engineer had a model of it and explained how it worked, very interesting.

Fairbanks-Morse manufactured the first gasolene engines sold in the U.S. in 1893. This one is kind of cool!
