Power brakes

I need help - advise. I have a 50 chevy tk 1/2 ton w/mild to hot 350 sb w/ps pw ac @ 4 wheel power disc brakes. All corvette rotors w/ 72 buick Elecrta calipers. Corvette master
cyl. 75 Montecarlo booster. I don't think the Vette cyl @ mont. booster is a good match. I either have too much pedal or not enough. I cut about 4" out of the pedal. Mas. cyl and booster are mounted under floor pan. I kneed a smaller booster 6 or 7" in diam. that will mate up w/ my Vette mas. cyl Sugestions coments welcome

As always Hotrodders BB is.

Thanks Jim Dandy

My 55 Chevy 1/2-ton truckrod has a 7" booster mated to a Corvette MC. Works great. Hope this helps.

Hi Jim,

I got my booster/MC setup from Classic Performance Products. Nice people to deal with. I'd give them a call, I'm sure they can hook you up. I'm not sure who's booster they use in the kit though. I also fabbed a remote reservoir for it. I used Keugel Performance's reservoir cover, and dual plastic reservoirs from a Ducati motorcycle. One for each side of the reservoir. LOL! Hey, it works! This allows me to easily keep an eye on the fluid level, and it eliminates the need for residual valves in the system.

The peddle is soft for the first inch or two of travel, then stiffens after that. It's a very controllable stop. I'm using 11" GM rotors/calipers in front (Caprice), and 11" S10 (Extreme) rotors/calipers in the rear. No proportioning valve. Vehicle is a 55 Chevy half-ton PU/SBC.

Hope this helps.

Ant
