power door locks..

Hi. I was wondering is it possiable to turn the original door locks that are in my 37 Ford Tudor and make them power?? I kind of like the the one door lock on the passengers side, but it is a bugger to have to always open that side to just open the drivers side.. Thanks.. Al

Yep

I did it with my '39 Standard. I bought a set of latches from Bob Drake -

http://store.bobdrake.com/19dola.html

The drivers side latch is set up for door locks. Picked up a set of electric lock solinoids at a swap meet and installed them before I had the interior redone. Works well, nice not having to crawl over the seat to open/lock the drivers door.

The set was kind of spendy but both of my latches were pretty worn and needed to be replaced anyway, which is how I justified the expense to myself

My whole car inside was gutted when I got it. I am not sure if there were those little pegs to push down and pull up or not.

should have holes where you you would normally find them, if it did have them.. in any case, it has to have some lock/unlock provision you could tie it to.. as the very least, the interior door handle will unlock the doors. and you could tie the lock motor into that, would partially open the door for you too

The only problem with using the original latches is that on the driver's side latch there is no provision to unlock it unless you use the inside door handle.

If you have good latches it is possible to modify the driver's side latch so that you can attach a pull rod to it that can be activated with the solnoid.Compare the two latches side by side and you will see the additional unlock hardware.

Nope, there are none - The lock actived by pulling the door handle back to lock it and pushing forward to unlock it. On the passenger side they added an additional rod that is pulled/pushed to lock it with the key from the outside.
