power gkide

i bought a engine with power glide on it yesterday from 63 chevy nova with 194 ci six banger the power glide is black with two large cutouts on each side you can see the torque converter thou cut outs just wandering what year model it may have come out of

Does it have any #s on it anywhere ? Also is it cast iron or aluminum ?

Look on the passenger side of the pan for the # s.

Sounds like it would be the original air-cooled Powerglide that came on the 6 cylinder engine in 1963.

Is the case aluminum??

The pic is a 63 glide. 63 up is aluminium 50 up to 63 is cast iron.
Thank's Eric, i was going to tell the OP the holes were for air cooled trans it slipped my mind for a second .
