power glide?

my buddy runs a power glide in a camero with a 454 bbc.my question is when he pushed the car to load it in the trailer it was making a clicking noise.so he jacked it up and put it in neutral,somthings clicking in the trans.ok put it in gear and turned the tires the same noise.any ideas please he has a race on thurs. for track team points. the car runs 9.50e.t. at 140mph and don't want anything bad to happen.
please help!

never mind pulling the trans,time for a rebuild.
