power glide kickdown

I have a 2 speed power glide in my t-bucket. I have the kickdown linkage
and the vacuum hooked up to the edelbrock carb. My question is do I need them both?

I think the modulator needs to be hooked to full manifold vacuum. And I would use it and the kickdown also.
