power rack and pinion
Anybody know witch power rack and pinion will fit a 79 camaro front clip.
Like to get rid of all the old linkage.
Have checked out Flamming river, but the don't have one for my clip and my wallet is not fat enough either.

There at a lot of thing to consider when selecting a rack and pinion for a conversion ... the overall length and the length of the extensions mainly. Then, the overall strength of the unit ... it is heavy enough to do the job ...

I know of no kits for your application ...

You really don't want to open this can of worms. It is not a simple job to "bolt on" a rack and pinion. Especially when you try to use a rack that wasn't designed for your non-rack suspension... There are a lot of design criteria that needs to be met to have a rack work correctly with an existing non-rack suspension. Bump steer, ackerman and turning radius are just a couple that will haunt you mercilessly. Do a search here on "bump steer" and you will find a few threads that discuss this.
Read this and do some research...
You would be much farther ahead to simply put on a quicker ratio recirc. ball box and rebuild your current suspension. There is really no gain to be had with a rack and pinion that would out-weigh the problems you will create by trying to adapt one.
