power settings for grand prix trunk latch

Hello, i am totally unfamiliar with cars/mechanics. but i am putting together a trunk out of fiberglass with will have the latch/actuator set from the trunk of a 1987 grand prix. i got whole set off ebay.
i got a copy of this chiltons owner's manual but that book was terrible it didn't help at all or at least i couldn't read it. does anybody know what voltage/current activates this actuator? is there supposed to be a relay connected to it? is it in series with some kind of resistor? or just the fuse to power? thanks!

Just run a power wire to the switch. it grounds itself when attatched to the trunk.

Typically trunk latches have an electrical release actuator. The closing latch is spring operated when the trunk is closed.
The release actuator is 12 volts DC.
The ampere draw is only a couple amps.
It only requires a momentary pulse to release the latch.
No relay required just momentary button.
Ground the body of the actuator and apply 12 volts to the wire.
