Power Steering 1955 Chevy
 

I'm thinking of installing a GM 605 power steering box on my 1955 Chevy. I,ve heard all kink of thing,s that you need to cut 4" off of steering columm & other stuff. I also saw a Ad for complete rack& pinion power steering set. But it said you have to modifie your steer columm or buy a I-didit columm. 429.00 is a lot of money for a columm. I want to keep my own. To use either the 605 conversion or the Rack and Pinion you will need to modifiy you original column. When I did it on my 57 I went with the Ididit unit and am very pleased with it.
