need some information on replacing original steering box with later model power steering box what models thanks

Are "set" in you thinking that you have to use a clunky box sitting on the frame rail or would you consider using a rack and pinion? Neither is a drop in modification, but a R&P would possibly be the easiest as the pump would sit just above the steering, shorter hoses vs a pair that would either run back to the box or dangle down to the control valve mounted on the end of the drag link. That second set up is notoriously unreliable. The very few PS systems that Ford used, '49-'56(yes, they will interchange fairly easily), have probably disappeared from the salvage yards and replacements will be very expensive.

This vintage car steers reasonably easy though seemed to have about 20 turns lock to lock with that big wide steering wheel
