Power steering control valve adjustment

Anybody know how to adjust a power steering control valve on a 1970 Corvette. The steering wheel pulls to the left when its running........all new parts except for the valve which I rebuilt.

Fairlane,
Point the wheel straight.
Jack the front end off the ground.
Remove the Left front wheel.
Remove the cover (about 1/2" round) on the control valve. Will pry off with a screwdriver.
Get a 7/16" socket.
Start the engine, your wheel will start turning left.
Start turning the exposed nut in one direction. The wheel will either start turning left more, or will start turning right, By turning the nut back and forth noting how far you've moved it to make the wheel change direction, turn it half way between those extremes.
Put the cap on, wheel on and lower to the ground.
Simple

Hope this helps

Dan

Did you replace the steering box? I am running a quick ratio Saginaw 700 box on my 54 and recently had the proportioning valve inside the steering box fail which threw the wheel hard left. I never knew there was a valve in the steering box. A replacement box was about $135 at the local parts house. Now everything is rock solid.

No I didnt replace the steering box, but just about everything else. I adjusted the nut on the end of the control valve counter clockwise and it seems fine now.
