Power Steering Hoses

Iam running braided hoses on my car an Iam running in to trouble I have the Teflon hoses on the hi pressure side with the olive fittings which worked out good but on the return side you cant because of the fitting on the pump. So can I run the 6an line that I had left over from my trans lines for the return? Any suggestions Please! Thanks Larry.

Olive Fittings?
The Trans Hose should work, return line doesn't have any pressure, only suction.
Just make sure the Hose's Vacuum rating is high enough to prevent it from collapsing.

There should be fittings (banjo-style and others) to allow you to use AN fittings on the pump. Is it a Saginaw?

I'm guessing the aluminum fittings that are olive colored have been hard anodized.

The high pressure teflon hoses have an "olive " (similar to a ferrule in a compression fitting) that swedges into the hose to make up the fitting. Scroll down to the "P.T.F.E. Hose Assembly" section...
