Power Steering Pump SBC BBC

Are the power steering pumps for small block and big block Chevrolets interchangeable?

As in, can I use a pump from a say 91 5.7 on a 454 if I just change the brackets?

Hi,
Yes, The brackets are different, but the pumps should be the same BB & SB.

that is a major understatement Richard. there are so many f'ing brackets, not just to the block but from bracket to pump mainly, it will drive you crazy ESPECIALLY if you put them all together first before you try to get the bracket on the pump and AFTER you press the pulley on the pump. wonder what those idiots (engineers) were thinking. ps, don't know what rig your runnin but if its a truck with large tires you NEED a double pully

also the little triangle bracket that bolts to the exhaust bolt there were two different ones of those in same years even some used a stud and others used a bolt
