Power steering rack

Will a right hand drive rack work on a left hand drive car?

To give you some idea of what I am trying to do, I have a 1959 Chevy Impala that has power steering but goes onto about a million different arms/rods/linkages and steering box and to keep it in a straight line you had to move the wheel 1/4 of a turn almost (possible slight exaggeration ) I am doing a full custom rework of the car and want to use a power rack, I have got a full front suspension off a Jag V12 XJS and was wondering if I could use it as I am making new mount's and what not. at this moment in time the V12 is still sitting on the front end of the car so have not yet pulled it apart and if it wont work might sell off the IFS?
Cheers
Mick

So far it looks to be a winner, I have mocked it up and all looks good, Now going to make some brackets and get it fitted between the front rails roughly where the steering box was located, might have to use more than one universal joint to get the connection to the steering wheel correct.
