power washing engine compartment
Is there anything to be concerned about by powerwashing an engine conpartment? I have an '05 chevy silverado, I work on a construction site and under the hood is a mess!!!!

Yup..getting water in the ignition system or down the intake can ruin your day..I use some heavy clear plastic wrap and duct tape..keep a moderate pressure and soap it down good..may take several runs at it to get it clean..

Use a can of the degreeser, let it set for a few and spray it off.
Cover the distributor and other electrical parts. Hg |

I use the car wash on mine, electronics and all. Maybe I am lucky, I've never had a no start, but I don't blast the distributor or the PCM directly either.
