Power Windows And Wiper Motors

This is my first street rod project and I'd like some suggestions as to where to go for power windows and electric wiper motor for 30's cars. Of course "bolt in, no cutting" would be nice, but I do live in the real world. Ease of installation will out-weigh price here. I would like to be able to just replace the vacuum motor with the electric and use the existing linkage and switch. Am I dreaming?

Thanks in advance,

This is just my suggestion, but if it were me,the first course of action I would take would be to go to a salvage yard and start looking through cars for one with power windows that was of a size needed, and the same for a wiper motor.Maybe something from a Toyota or Honda could be fitted, with some patience & fabricating skills.

power toys

What car are you going to put them in- there are some model specific
kits as well as universal kits but 30's car covers a wide range of applications.

I have installed Specialty Power Windows stuff. Both the power window kits and I just installed the electric wiper kit with their billet arms in my Willys. Their customer service is top of the line. Not the cheapest stuff but it works as they say and if you have problems or questions they are very good.

Power stuff

Power windows in general have to be handpicked from salvage stuff, because one aftermarket set-up does not fit all. Good luck with that.

However for 30's something electric wipers there is one available fron Vintage products that runs around $50 a unit, so for $100 the problem is solved. I just installed a set on my 39 Pont. and they work perfect and are easy to install. The only hard part is to block off the original wiper mount hole with metal, and finish them over and then drill new holes for the aftermarket elec. units. Worth the money and the little extra work to have great working wipers. They even have an electric return and stop. So both wipers return to the same position when you turn them off. Units come with adjustable wiper arms and blades. Very high end stainless product.
