Yes, you can swap to the shorter planetary setup, and extension housing. But, why not rebuild it yourself, they are very easy to do; the hardest thing is getting the steel speedometer gear off the tailshaft. You do know that you will have to swap out essentially the entire rotating parts assemblies? And, be careful not to mix and match 1.82 and 1.76 first gear ratio parts. Just happen to have a 25" Glide that came from a 63" 409 car; so I've hung onto it for many years waiting for just the right buyer to come along; someone looking for the numbers correct setup.
