powerglide

i guy told me that a powerglide takes a lot less power to turn and will get just as much gas mileage as a th 350
so my question is how streetable is a street/strip powerglide this is going to be my daily driver but i am going to take it to the track on the weekends

thanks so thats a no well he said he would build me one to handle 600+ hp if i helped him backhalf his vega
