Powerglide trans to 400 Chevy motor
I have powerglide trans that came off my 327 motor. What will it take to bolt onto the 400 motor? The 400 has a different fly wheel than the 327. I know that the 400 fly wheel needs to be used. The stall converter does not appear to line up with the 400 fly wheel. Can I use a stall converter from a different Trans? I have a tranmission that came with the 400. It is not a powerglide. With that stall converter work on the powerglide? Thanks to any one that cane help.

I believe you have to have a stall to fit a power glide tranny
you can get them from auto zone

You HAVE to use the 400 flywheel. You also have to use the converter for a powerglide. The converter can be from any manufacter that you chose, can also be any stall that you need or size. If the converter bolt pattern does not fit the flywheel. You will have to drill new holes, not a big deal. Most of the flywheels have both bolt patterns in them and the converter should just bolt up. I have used this combo in several race cars.

They also make a turbo input shaft for a glide so you can use a turbo converter, instead of a glide spline converter.
