Powertrax locker

My GTO has been sitting for 4 years while I have been restoring it. It has a powertrax locker in it and now when you take sharp turns or take a turn with it in gear the whole car starts to buck. I believe that the powertrax is locked up. I replaced the fluid and put GM posi lube in it. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know of a good way to unlock it other than to just drive it and hope that it unlocks? Thank you.

All locked up!

Well with the powertrax or any locker for that matter, understeer occurs when turning because the locker is trying to turn both wheels at the same speed, which makes a squeak, but it shouldn't be bucking. What they said. Take it out and get it moving!
