PPG Paint Can't Mix It ??

......I got a paint code that PPG here in Canada says they can not mix, L5320EB. They say you can get it in the USA but not here. Like man, it is on a 2002 Freightliner not a 1928 ford ! Dupont says no problem, but my painter likes using PPG . So is there anyone here that can confirm or got a way to mix this in base / clear PPG and I can pass it on to the PPG guys here. Thanks.

....all I know is that the painter at the shop where my truck is, said his PPG supplier told him this is a special order color and they tried but can not get the stuff from anywhere in Canada. I called a Dupont supplier and they laughed, said what would I like , single stage or base ---no problem. So what is with PPG ?

maybe it is a proprietary? color, but I would think there is an alternate? sounds like they didnt try hard enough... like I said.. could also just be a limited tint or base ....call ppg library and ask for an alternate formula..

It happens.... I just had dupont say they couldnt mix a color but PPG could so I went with the PPG,any painter worth a dam can and will paint with all brands..mainly because they fired so often and the next shop uses something completely different...but there are one or two that only worked at one place and that place never changed their paint system,I guess. more likely the painter is a newbie and thats the only paint he ever used...Dupont is good paint too. theres no good reason for him not to use it.Just tell them a good painter can paint with anything...so take it to the next level. he might even learn something and prefer dupont, I know I do....

....I hear yah deadbodyman, but the guy doing my truck has been running his own one man shop for 35 years, does very good work. Yes he can and will spray anything. But only local supplier is PPG, which he supports naturally. Next supplier is a 100 miles away. 2 years ago PPg mixed a small amount of this color no problem, but now with the new water stuff they said can't do it anymore, so very strange I thought and figured I would just ask the pros here if there is a PPG alternative. Apparantly they called the library or whatever the place is and 2 days they spent on it with no luck. I will go get the dupont I'm sure as soon as the body is ready and he'll spray it. Thanks 4 replys.

The change to the waterborne paints is causing some issues with blends and matches..Like DBM says just go with the DuPont on this job..Works fine..
