precautions for turbo 350 that sat unused for 1 year?

the tranny I'm talking about is in my s10 and has a brand new stock converter but has sat undrained for about a year. I installed it in my truck anyways. I'm just wondering if there's any kind of precautions I should know of [besides changing the fluid] or start up procedures I need to do in order not to damage it, I replaced the front main seal because it was easy to access at the time. I also have a shift kit I would like to install after I get it running.

Another question I have is if an adjustable modulator work well in conjunction with a standard B&M 2 stage shift kit or does the shift kit eliminate the need for an adjustably modulator.I plan on driving the truck mostly on weekends so the firmer the shifts the better. One of my goals is to chirp the tires when I hit second. thanks for your time, talk to you later.

this is what I'll be using to get my truck going.

Yea
drain out as much fluid as you can (damn near impossible out of the converter unless its got a plug)

take down the pan & change out the filter

change "O" rings on fill tube and down shift cable

replace front & rear seals MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CONVERTER ALL THE WAY BACK IN!

you should NOT be able to stick your fingers in between the converter and the inner bell housing

good luck

thanks for the reply man.

the the trans is currently in the truck w/new converter empty and no space for my fingers between trans and converter.

so know i guess i'll just drain the rest of the trans and install new filter/shift kit at the same time along with some o-rings.

thanks again.
