my buddy has a predator carb street version with idle circuit.he tells me he was trying to tune it and now it is popping threw the carb when you try to give it gas.by the way he lives in Michigan.
anyway does anyone know were the base setting are for this carb?he said there is two screws on the carb one for idle mixture and and one for main fuel metering.
i have no idea what he adjusted but he said he turned the big screw and it started to pop but he was and did not pay attention as to how many turns he moved it.

any help would be great i hate trying to fix something over the phone.

I have no experience but have been intrigued by the carb since it was introduced a couple decades ago as a Kendig. It uses a similar metering system as the motorcycle carbs that I have volumes of experience with. You might try a local guy that is good with performance motorcycle carbs. I mean someone that has had experience since the 60s since the newer ones are somewhat different. If he gets fed up, I may be interested if he wants to sell.

Preditors are far superior to Holleys, he might have got a bad carb. having the variable CFM is really what makes the carb a good setup

yeah when the truck was here in illinois we had it running great nice throttle responce,i don't know what or why he was making so many adjustments.
by the way it's a 1934 ford pickup chopped and channeled with a 351w 385hp crate motor with aluminum heads,c4 trans,9'' rear end,4-link,4.11 gear.

You might want to try to PM or E-mail the guy that staps buy here. I think his screename was/is "predator carb guru" He really seemed to know those carbs.

biggest thing to remember about tuning a predator, is that you can't tune them like a holley!!! they work completely different than a regular carb, and therefore require a different tuning approach!!!
