the 455 pontiac clutch assy's are the same as a big block chevy....if you're not sure what you got,put it up to the flywheel.

flywheel / rearend unit

I asked earlier today about a pressure plate , I should have asked if the flywheel bolt pattern is the same on a chevy and a pontiac also I am trying to ID a couple of chevy rear ends, I have a posi unit in a camaro housing that I am trying to find out if it will fit in one of the two chevelle housings i have. I found a web site that says there are #s 410408 as a series 3 or 410409 as a series 2... I can 't find these numbers anywhere on housing or the unit it self , one site said to measure the distance between the very bottom hole and the next hole to the right or left. 3 1/4 as a 7.5-- 3 3/4 as a 8.5 All three of the housings I have measure 3 1/4 I think. I am triying to put a posi in a 65 GTO I'm using a chevelle rearend because chevy parts are easier to find. Thanks for any help
