lol I'v used both the oil that is call for it (you can find it at Lowe's) and HD30 motor oil.
The one with the motor oil blew up but I don't think it was because of the oil in the pump. but I would use the oil that is called for, its not that expensive and why risk a $200 pump

I know at work we use Cat pumps.We only use the Cat pump oil.It is really thin,not like motor oil.The are more commercial pumps as opposed to something you use at home but I think the oil would be similar.
