The rear quarter panel on my 55 chevy needs a little body filler to cover up a few shallow dents and ripples. The previous owner sprayed the area with the cheap spray can gray primer. Do I have to sand off all of the primer or can I put the body filler over top of it. Thanks for the info

The best thing that you can do is remove that spray can primer. It will not hold up, and the filler will not stay on it for long. I would suggest primering it with an epoxy, and then apply any filler you need.
