I'm planning on doing a resto on my Delta. For this, I'm going to do all of the body work, but I'm going to have it professionally painted. What do I do for primer? I'm going to have to use filler, but what can I use under it and over it for a protector? I won't have access to the proper brand. Will spray bombs work OK?
spray can primers use questionable solvents, these can do some strange things later. use a good primer if you don't know what the painter shoots then use a generic urethane primer like Weatern or mar-hyde then have it sealed before painting.
I would strongly suggest that you visit a nearby paint store. You should use compatable materials from bottom to top. A good paint job relies on a good foundation. Ask the paint store to help you pick the primer and paint.
