I think he was reffering to the tech sheet's recommended tip pressure at 8 psi,not at the gun itself.

Any time a tech sheet reccomends a pressure setting in the gun is usualy the tip pressure for spraying for a reference on what type of gun is best suitable for spraying the material..since just about any different type of gun will spray differently with inlet pressures they can't reccomend an inlet pressure.

I would read the tech sheet again and see what type of reducer is best compatable with it and how much it can be reduced for a better spray,then test some more panels and adjust the gun untill you get the best spray pattern and good lay.
