Primers?

Should a person epoxy primer (say with DP90), then fill in the dents, and then spray a filler primer (brand???) and then go over it all again with DP90 epoxy primer??? I have been told to use BrakeClean to clean the metal prior to primering. Also, I see that many like NAPA sold fillers and others like Evercoat types .... are they all the same.
As a neophyte in the refinish business, I'd like the best but uncomplicated solution to preping the body of my 40 Plymouth prior to having it painted.
Any help appreciated....

you would normally epoxy then fill the dents then epoxy again because you will most likely have bare metal areas again after shaping the filler. your 2k primer/surfacer goes over the second epoxy. dont use brake cleaneron the metal, regular wax/grease remover works fine or i prefer the waterborne stuff on bare metal. acetone works good too.

Thanks for the reply...just noticed the "threads" listed below and looked at some of them. Seems like some excellent info...have to learn to look a little harder at the other posts...some days go better than others
