Pro 5.0 Shifter for a GM T-56 trans - Anyone tried it??

Hey everyone,

I have a question regarding a shifter for a T-56 in my 68 camaro. I am currently rebuilding the synchros and putting in a Viper mainshaft.

Has anyone used a Pro 5.0 Power Tower shifter on a GM spec T-56? They say they have a patent on the 2-3 shift mechanism. Anybody love / hate this shifter???

I have noticed that a bunch of the supposed short throw shifter look a lot like the knock off units that you can get on eBay for liek $40. In fact, I bought a knock off. wasn't very good at all. I dont' want to buy another shifter and waste my money if it isn't worth it. . . .

THanks for any info!!!

I have had a PRO 5.0 on my T-5 for 11 years. The 2-3 shift is precise and positive every time. I would never consider anything less. It is excellent in every way. Period.

The 2-3 shift = all you have to do is use the flat palm of your hand and hit the lever forward. It goes perfectly every time.
