Hey guys I ve got another question for ya Im not sure if its a problem or not ....and its kind of dificult to explain.. But ill try Ive noticed after i drive my car Ive got oil dripping off my starter I started investigating and found oil In both the back bolt recesses on my intake manifold around my distributor and on the back of the block below the intake on my 327
Here is the confusing part ill try to explain... The milled sealing surface on the intake for the distributor Is like a 2 in. circle The sealing surface on the distrib. is Nowhere that big and uses only like a 1/4 inch wide round piece of paper as a gasket....(Hell i confused myself)
Basically the sealing surfaces are not the same size and i believe the paper has to go. Its an aftermarket distrib. Do they make better gaskets? Im sure adjusting the timing destroyed the paper gasket.... Has anyone seen this before (not the paper) the different size surfaces and what have you done about it?
Thanks again guys
Well sorry to waste everyones time I am an IDIOT!!!

It seems the "paper gasket that came with the distributor is to prevent the sealing surface from getting scratched
Its amazing how much oil you will leak......WHEN YOU DONT USE GASKETS!!!
Please feel free to take any punitive action against me as you see fit....
