Problem w/ Powerglide

Recently built a PG "shorty" Using a TCI eliminator. It seems I can engage the shaft spline but as you can see the red clay, it's not engaging pump tangs.
Is it possible that the spline is not seated deep enough? IF so whats my solution, when I tap the spline it does seem to be bottomed out against something solid??
I hope I do not have to open this thing again, but whatever, really need some input.
Larry

Is your eliminator drive for a glide spline or turbo spline?

The glide input shaft looks too long. Was this a complete trans when you began?

What gear ratio planet is used?

Is the washer seated in the planet?

Problem w/ Powerglide

First off, I was hoping you would respond, Thanks, this is a new territory for and old garage hack.

1.'Glide

2. Yes, pulled from running '67 C10

3. 1:82

4: I have Carl Munroes(RIP) book. He states this washer stays in as opposed to the 1:76 that falls out. If I pull this thing apart I guess this the only way I'll know. I wish the book would have listed the measurement of protrusion of the spline from the pump outer spline, which would always be the same.
UPDATE: I went back and I got the eliminator to go to the depth seen in the pic and the red clay on the tip of the shaft has not been crushed. Should this be able to go deeper? Do I just need to keep working it?
This is going in a 350-400 HP V-drive for skiing mostly, so this will not be "hammmered" on real hard. Just want it safe.
PS: I tried explaining This to TCI, NO JOY, so Thanks for hangin' in there with me.

looks like the drive may be going deep enough.

You can stand the glide on it's end, look into the trans with input shaft removed if needed.

Most of these drives are built with turbo splines. Make sure you have the glide OE spline in the drive

"looks like the drive may be going deep enough". Is this all that needs to be engaged?, seems minimal, would this satisfy you if it was your unit?

"You can stand the glide on it's end, look into the trans with input shaft removed if needed." Little slow on the uptake here on this one, what am I looking for?

"turbo splines" are you referring to the hardened aftermarket splines or the older PG's
Again thanks for your time, I went lurking and like the morris minor project, what are you going to run for Engine??
