Unhappy Problem with the white Caprice.

I took the white caprice out for a real ride today. It was running good. I drove it fairly normal. A friend of mine was in the car. So I had to show off a little. When I got to a stop sign I pulled it into first gear I creeped up to 20 mph and punched it, the back tire broke loose and put down a honest 20 feet of rubber. It wasn't glorious but my passenger thought it was awesome. Going home, right before I turned into my neighborhood my freaking windows fog up, I could smell antifreeze and hear a hissing sound. My temp gauge, which had been at 170 for almost the whole ride, was reading 230. ****, the heater core blew. I pulled into my drive way, shut it down, popped the hood, antifreeze was coming out of the bottom of the housing where the heater core is located.

That kind of ruined my day, it could have been worse, at least it happened a 1/4 mile from my house. I'll stop at a parts store and get a heater core tomorrow.

Oh yea, for me that was light driving.

I've put down about three times more feet of rubber than I have miles on that new engine and trans.

Yea I have high pressure readings, it's safe to drive though.

I've got some little things to take care of before the car goes to my transmission guy.

...hook up power steering pump belt. Drive around for a while with that unhooked and you grow new muscles in your arms.
