I think you stand almost alone with this problem as I have in over 25 years of dealing with Summit can probably say that it has never taken more then a week to get anything that's been in stock. You do have to pay attention to their estimated ship date if they don't have it in stock as they will rely on their vendors for an in-house date. Then they can have a problem - but they do advise their best date. Heck, I even ordered a crate engine and it only took 4-5 days via truck.

It was in stock when i ordered it. But the weird thing is that i ordered the choke cable to go with it and i got it 3 days later. I'm really upset with myself mostly for not sticking with Jegs. They never let me down.

I buy from both Jeg's & Summit & have bin doing so for quite sometime, not as long as Dave but awhile & I have never had a problem with either Co. other Cos should follow their lead w/delivering items & for customer service. Rich |

I always order from Summit and usually get my order in a week or plus a few days more, and I´m in Spain.
The only reason I´d have to wait longer is Spanish customs. For foreign orders Jegs is waaaay too expensive on shipping, Summit is more flexible with more options, USPS being economic and pretty fast. |

I order from summit if I order before 9 at night I get it the next day if in stock

Never had an issue and have been buying from them forever. Shipments come fast and the few times I returned something it was no hassle at all.
I also think you had a rare bad experience. I would right their customer service dept, maybe you will get a gift certificate or something.

If it was in stock the day you ordered it,perhaps multiple orders came in at the same time and they couldn't fill both? Most retail companies update their perpetual inventory systems once a day. If they have 4 and sell 6 that day, 2 people get screwed.
I have used both Jegs and Summit a lot and never had an issue. However Jegs does do one thing that I really appreciate... FREEBIES!!! It's nice to get a new hat, stickers etc.. every few months. I also find Jegs website easier to navigate. |

freebies is what turned my dad away from jegs.. he bought an engine, and got an engine.. bought a harmonic balancer, and a few other odds and ends at the same time as the engine.. parts were gotten from Summit and he got a hat, stickers, a Tee shirt, gift card and a pen IIRC
