Progress update on the '27 T

Well my uncle and me worked hard all summer to get his '27 model T going. We started with a decent model A frame, some swap meet parts and a rusty body. Progress was slowed down once I got my truck and spent a lotta time working on it so we stopped on the "T" for about a month and a half and picked it up later. This is how far we got during 2-3 months of weekend labour and some weekdays. Got the body mounted on the frame, got the rear hung (just gotta weld the brackets for good) and the front almost done (gotta weld up some brackets to hold the radius rods). Got the frame boxed etc. Here are some pics

and this is what we started with

Questions, comments? This is a huge learning experience for me, specially how to setup suspension from scrap. I'll be attempting a very similar build in spring.

Yeah I'm pretty excited. We're gonna keep it as high off the ground as it is, gives it an early rod agricultural look. Thats it for this summer, we'll pick it up again in the spring and drop the mild 305 in it.

Please tell us it's not going to be a "rat rod".

Other than that, it looks great

Nice progress Mike. What a difference in your life from last year when you had ZERO rods. (Remember those "dreaming" days?) Now you've got one running on the street and one in the oven. Not bad for a guy still hittin' the books in high school.

Great job Mike! One man's trash, is another man's hotrod!

305 huh? I always thought you were against putting SBC's in rods because everyone else does.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm really blessed to have learned so much and gotten my own ride within a year, things turned out great. It wont be a rat rod...cant you see the front brakes? It'll be a traditioal rod for sure though, no billet here

It aint my rod Brad...if it was for me there wouldnt be a 305 in there. He's got 2 Hemis (one for his '40 and another one), a few Pontiac V8's and he used to have flattys kicking around but sold them. He's also got a built up 350 but hes taking the 305 cause this one will be a weekend cruiser.
