Do you guys ever get the point in a project that you are just tired of working on it? I have worked on my S-10 buildup for over a year now every single weekend.....well except the last three. I just have not felt like it. I have worked my butt off getting it this far, and I just dont feel like working on it lately. I think I may just need a little break. Any of you have any motivation secrects?

I have had this happen to me plenty of times and the best thing you can do is take a break and get away from it for a while. Sometimes a week will do it sometimes you will need a month or longer. Only you will know when its time to go back to work.

Ditto to the above. I also find it inspiring to go to rod runs and see the rest of the guys having a great time driving their rods. Makes me wat to be one of them!

Don't give up TurboS10- what I usually do is go to a friends house who also has the 'hotrod fever' and talk shop, go to car shows or swaps, or buy new tools!!! Any of these get me more motivated! Just looking at the pics in some of hotrodders.com albums can get me more excited about my projects. Just imagine the day you fire it up and cruise the streets Totally Done!!! (well...... they're NEVER totally done!!)

Chris, I think you should go to the track. If watching other people run doesn't get you back in the mood, then maybe you need a plain old *** -whoopin'. I been collecting parts and messing around with my truck for three years, so I don't wanna hear it.

that is it, if you think of all the girls, and how they will want you, then youll want to get it done fast so you can get some nookie. anyone agree with me.

Thanks for the input guys. I have been on the road for the last month with work. When I get home on weekends, I just dont feel like working on it. I think I need to go to a show, track, or swap meet and get some more goodies. I think alot of it is also the hesitance to spend money. I need to spend about 2k or so to get her done. I got a little one on the way, and it is making me more reserved on spending for the nonessentials. The sex motivation did not work thus far. It has been a bit counterproductive.

Sometimes real life needs to take precedence. I started my Willys in 1966 and shut it down until 1995 when my career was in place and my family was mostly grown.

Chris, Take out your pictures of the project in the beginning. Just look how far you came. Then imagine you new son or daughter sitting next to you running down the town strip. What a way to show off your new child

Good point! Now I just need to convince my wife.......Hmmm....I might could finish by October....
I have been telling her we are having a boy. I figure by age two he can get nuts and bolts from all those hard to reach places. A year or two after that and I got a little wrench turner.
