Project Help! Choices...

Hello,

I am looking into getting a project car for me to work on during the summer and to play with.

I greatly love old muscle, but I see far too many on the road and want something unique.

First off, let me tell you what I have, I have a Stock 327 with Tranny, and a 429 thats pushing 500 HP.

I really dont care about looks, here are a few of the car ideas I have had,

1985 Jaguar for the 327
1992+ Volvo 940 for the 327
1969 f350 Custom with a Welding Rig on back with the 429.
1982 Mustang with the 429

I personally like sleepers. Thus the first 2 ideas.

So any help would be great, I really love the Volvo idea but Im not sure the trouble it would be! Thanks.

Welcome, I like the sleeper idea but just my opinion build an american sleeper. Both engines sound great.

What would be a good 'American' Sleeper?

American motors Rambler. If you find a mid 60s model they are cheap but look pretty cool. Also a early 60s Falcon. Or a Gremlin or Pacer. And gremlins where available with 390s so it probably wouldn't be hard to put 1 of your engines in it. Also a Pinto makes a good sleeper.

There's a guy in my town that stuffed a BBC into a 4-door Volvo wagon. He also welded up the rear 2 doors and smoothed it so you would never tell it used to be a 4-door. He and his wife are very proud of their accomplishment, and I must say it's a quite a pice of engineering. But, it's a Volvo. The cool factor just isn't up there, for me anyways.

The Jag with a 327.....same issue for me; no cool factor.

Mustand with a 429....I think I've seen about 200 of those on Pinks! (My favorite sit-com!).

The F350 with a welding rig? If you don't care about looks...Bada Bing!

How about stuffing the 429 into a mid 80's 4-door Chevy Malibu? Talk about a sleeper! And you'd have the added bonus of p'ing off the avid Ford and Chevy guys! Now THAT would be cool!

Antny

Sounds fun, I was considering a 500CI Caddy motor in the rear of a Civic Hatchback. Any idea on that?
