Get my ratrod at least 100% roughed in. possibly running on it's own power.

Get my '51 Chevy finished and put it on the road

Put floor pans in my '74 Beetle and get it road ready again. I had it for sale, but after lowball offers and no shows, I'm just going to fix it and drive it again

Find a used edelbrock intake for my '42 Chevy's Olds 455. Then I am getting the car to bare metal and bodywork and hopefully Hunter Green paint by summer. Then I am wanting to do the door panel upholstery, already made the panel boards.

- Tools: Buy a drill press.

Things I'd like to be able to accomplish this year (in no specific order):

- Learn to rebuild a 4L60e transmission for my '95 yukon. Just need to buy the tools.

- Learn to rebuild an engine, specifically a straight eight.

- Go to the track and do more photography .

- Learn to fab up my own tools and parts. I figure once I get that drill press and and become proficient at welding, I should have more confidence in such projects.

- Participate in the Hotrodders Art contests.

- Win a race.

- And whatever else I can't think of...
my short list^ there is so much more though...

Fleetline, that car is really looking good. I love the roof lines on those cars.

2012 Project

Finish my shop. This involves
1)clearing out/cleaning up
2) finish interior wall insulation and cladding
3) install ceiling insulation and ceiling (with lights)
4) install the two 4-post hoists
5) install the compressor and airlines
6) install the boiler for the hydronic heating

THEN- set priority for which car gets attention first, and arrange shop accordingly

I have some shop (garage) new years resolutions too, but they are WAY off in the distance of importance. I MUST put the cars first at this point.

If I don't get the shop done, I have no place to work on the cars!

Chet I'm glad I read this and you wrote what you did. I have to put brakes in my 46, I think just the pads in front. Thanks for reminding me.

1. Upgrade the AC in my Rambler.

2. Rebuild a 1974 J-10 pickup. Not exactly a hot rod, just a daily driver. Doing some upgrades, but will be pretty stock appearing. Thinking seriously about a small turbo on the I-6 -- mainly for gas mileage, expect the turbo to max out at 3500 rpm and become a bottle neck at higher rpm. But boost will come in early and be right full on (only 5-7 psi) in the cruising range (2000-2500 rpm). That should be good for power AND add some gas mileage.
