pros and cons on 350 to 402 swap

I am pulling a 350 from my 72 super cheyenne smokes bad. I have a 402 big block that was given to me this truck isnt a daily driver just a cruiser on nice days. debating on what to do rebuild 350 and reinstall or rebuild 402 and drop in. Do I need new motor mounts? I need new radiator@shroud,how hard is it to find engine brackets? this is a factory air truck so I will need new a/c bracket. maybe someone out there has tackled this before and give me some insight. I have intake manifold and exhaust manifolds for the 402 just curious how much more it will cost to go with the big block.

The big block will bolt into your stock mounts. The biggest problem will be your air, steering and alternator mounts and pulleys. Rare and SPENDY!!

bb swap

I have done BB swaps. The motor mounts will work. But the motor will sit 2" higher in the engine compartment. BB mounts will make it sit down lower. If hood clearance is not a problem. SB mounts are fine.

I can usually find complete pulley sets from junkyard donors. A/C swap I have never done. I am out to make HP and A/C is a large HP robber.

Biggest problem I have is installing headers. Hooker has a large supply of SuperComp headers made especially for BB swaps. But they are generally tight fitting. I have never attempted a stock exhaust swap. HP again.
