Pros and Cons of a T-5 or T-56 five speed?

Spent some time rowing the 5 speed in my kid's Ranger this weekend and now I'm longing for another stick. I was going to put a 200-4R in my Stude but there is also a really slick kit to swap a T-5 or T-56 into one using the stock 3 speed bellhousing. This is not a high powered car, it's light and will have skinny little tires so strength isn't that big of an issue. I like 200-4R's but I sure did have fun rowing a 5 speed again and it didn't bother my knee at all in traffic. I'd like to hear the pros and cons of the T-5. TIA.

Sounds like a good plan. Here's a little info on the T-5 that you might find useful: http://www.moderndriveline.com/Techn...t5_history.htm

Thanks Jim. Great info. Just thought of another "pro/con" in my application, the Stude mounts are set up like the Tri-5 Chevies. That means there would be a rather large span between mounts on the 200-4R whereas the 5 speed would still use the factory bellhousing mounts.
