Protecting Body Filler
Hey all, I wanted to know the best way to protect a panel once its been finished with body filler. With my hectic schedule it'll be some time before I actually shoot the entire car with primer but I still wanted to go ahead and knock out a lot of the body work in the mean time. I plan on using HOK paint. Would I be safe to just spray the areas I worked with a rattle can primer and leave that on until I'm ready to spray the entire car? Any suggestions?

I havent seen spray can primer that will resist water if you have a air compressor and a spray gun I would spot prime each panal as you go and use a 2 part primer this will resist water

You might check out Martin Seniour Rattle cans at NAPA. I think they have a sealer that should resist moisture, but two part is definately best as stated above.

Primer is not water proof. If the repair will be exposed to the weather it should be sprayed with a two part primersealer as stated above.
Most rattle cans have silicone as a propellant. I`m sure you know what that will do for a paint job. Good Luck. Troy; <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />
