protecting hood with acrylic paint

I want to store my hood, it'll be out side but under cover.
What wax would protect best. I've got some Maguires liquid but was thinking paste would be better.

If your going to store your hood outside you will get limited protection from any wax...a paste wax may be better. I'm a firm believer in not using a wax. Many waxes contain silicone and silicone seals of the paint and doesn't allow the paint to breathe, after time, a silicone wax can choke off a paint job so much that the paint will actually haze underneath the wax.

If your going to use a wax, make sure that it's silicone free.

Hope this helps

Ray

having a hood outside with a cover over it is worse than using nothing. polish it good with canuba wax from mothers ans store upright out of the west sun . if you cover it make a tent from 2x4's then cover them .

underside ?

The underside and areas by braces can start rust thru, and it depends if the original factory had a dip or E coat of just sprayed it.the undersides didn't get much coverage.

under the bed?

put your bed up on a couple bricks and store it under there, A guy had a 27 T project for sale, When I went to check it out, He had a 4 bedroom house, garage, and basement, Parts for each of his builds were stored in bedrooms, and he was sleeping in the living room, The 27 was in an upstairs bedroom, with new tube axle, rear QC , shot gun scoop, etc. !
