Pull engine vs pull engine and trans together

Wondering what would be easier. Need to do engine rebuild on 67 ford f150 ,v8, automatic. I'm thinking it would be eaiser to pull eng and trans rather than seperate and just pull engine. Would appreciate opinions.

Thanks in advance.

My suggestion is to take it all at one time. the payoff will be with the re-installation. Once it is all back in place and the mounts are tightened all you have to do is check the shifting linkage and button up the universal joint. Everything is easier to access on a bench than from underneath. Just my thoughts.

On most 2WD trucks its better to pull both as a unit, but you will need to use a cherry picker that lets you angle the assembly as you pull and reinstall. If it was a 4WD with a heavy transfer case you often pull just the engine.

Depends what you want to do...If you want to clean/inspect tranny, I would pull both. If its a manual trans, I would pull both. Too big a pain to line clutch up while in car. When I was just pulling engine, I would hold the tranny up in place with a piece of chain looped up on the firewall.
