i have a chevy with a 327.im pretty new at these so my question mite sound easy but if confussing the hell out of me.i pulled my cam without setting exactly were i pulled it out same with the distr... im placing in a new cam and lifters.i read u should run the eng over 2 rpm's for at least 30 mins the first time u start it with the new cam.but how can i do that if the timming of.is there anyway to set the timming before i start the eng? one more thing i screwed up on is removing the lifters.they would not come out so i put a long peace of clean cardboard in were the cam went so they wouldnt fall down the eng.well it worked.except the last one... fell down the eng.im hoping it ended up in the oil pan.anyone know? thank you if u left any suggestings.peace!

I hope you aren't using your old lifters with a new cam. If so, stop! You'll ruin the new cam.
