Pulley Help

Hey guys I've got a really annoying problem......the belt on my alternator and water pump squeels anytime i give it any gas and doesn't stop....i noticed that my cranshaft pulley was at an angle, but the rest of my pulleys are straight up and i have no clue how to adjust them or if i can.....any ideas?.......oh, it's the stoick 396 with the stock pulleys.

The crankshaft pulley may be put on incorrect.
Remove it and rotate it around and see if it will fit flat. If it is a two piece it can be bolted on wrong. If its bent Id recommend replacing all the pulleys, the grove can be worn deeper than the norm and wreck a belt.
Tightening is from the alternator keeping about 1/2" when pushed down on the top center of the belt.
You should try to align the crank pulley no matter what.

a friend of mine has a 79 trans am 403, his belts did the same thing. theres something u can buy called belt dressing. it might be because of age and wear. u can more than likely pick it up at ur local autozone

Belt dressing is a temporary fix, and not that good of one at best. The problem of misalignment needs to be corrected.
