Spelling, typing and watch drag racing at the same time, not a good combo.

Happens to all of us - just had to tease you about it. And the thought of a 6000lb wench made me chuckle.

I'm sorry but I'm not ever giving money to someone to hold a car. That's just ridiculous. Even if i get a piece of paper and a key that doesn't mean anything. I'm not asking to hold it for a week, just one day. And i'm not renting a trailer to drive down there and it end up being a pos. I'm sorry but if you guys wouldn't hold a car for one day for the guy to get a trailer to tow it back with him then you are just as bad as this guy. There has to be some honesty and trust in the world. I've held cars, and I've had people hold cars for me. (Not family members, don't be slick). It's not like i said I'd call him to let him know, I said I am DEFINITELY BUYING IT. And i even called to confirm the pickup. I mean **** i even booked the trailer and bought a winch. Just really bad business to do that to someone.

I'll chime in here.....people call on ad's "hey I'll be right over, don't sell it".... never see them. People come look at your car, boat, parts and don't bring money then ask you to hold it for a couple of days, I tell them absolutely not, if you want to buy it leave me a GOOD CASH deposit and I'll hold it for 5 days till you bring the additional amount. If it's not paid for in those 5 days then you forfit your deposit and it's up for sale again.

This is all on paper as a legal binding contract, we both sign it, each get a copy and shake hands on it. Thats how you do business with strangers, people get burned all the time, did you leave your name and phone number so he could get a hold of you? Probably not, you are wrong in your thinking and I would have done exactly the same thing the seller did. First one with cash gets the carrot.

There is most assuredly none. Especially when it come to money, business, love, nature, the law, etc.

I hope you find a new good deal, and your spirit heals.

I made it extremely clear that i could not get a trailer til monday and he said he would hold it and that it was no problem. He did not ask for a deposit. If he said he needed a deposit then i would have given him some cash, but he said no problem he would hold it. You have to stand by your word. In your case you said no, i will not hold it, and made that clear. He said yes i will hold it, no deposit, and went and sold it anyway. That's just wrong.

I have to agree that he made a promise and didnt keep it.That IS a very POOR business practice and something I would not do.
Never promise anything you are not willing to deliver.
One door closes...another door opens....maybe that car wasnt meant to be yours. Something better may be waiting for you tomorrow. keep a positive attitude.
And BRING CASH next time.

Thread moved. It does not provide any real help in accordance with the title. It has also strayed from that topic.
It has almost no usable information about loading securing and transporting a car on a trailer.
This would be an excellent topic for a new thread....if it stays on topic.

I always say if it's meant to be then it will happen. Guess I'll find something better soon.
