Check my last post!! See the 4 hole plate? That is the old x-celerator intake you have it isn't to bad at lower RPM 1500 rpm up!!

If it was ME, I would build it using the Weiand intake and see what it ran like. If you're happy w/it, then nothing needs to be done. The difference won't be worth $hipping a different intake from the US to you.

Just keep your eyes open for a Performer intake. When/if you find one, you can decide if you want to swap.

If you have room for a spacer, you can make one from marine plywood.

A couple I made:

15 to 30 dollars depending on the brand! years ago we made our own out of hardwood or Neolite or aluminum as heat insulators you could probably make one!!! make a pattern out of the intakes carb base Or make an anti reversion plat like this only with longer tubes!!!

oke this is what i want to do. i run the engine on a stand .. and the carb is going of the block when i bould it in.. it ti runs like a dog on the stand i can make a plate of steel or rvs. what disign would be better the first one with only holes or the second post with tubes, how thick needs the plate with tubes to be and how long tubes.. maybe angle the tubes to the direction of the 1 and 3 port and 2 and 4 port and the 5 and 7 port and a tube to 6 and 8,,, idea?

A 1 inch plate with 4 venturi holes or a flat plate with 4 venturi 1 inch long down tubes both need to be a little bigger diameter then your carb throttle plates.

I'm not familiar w/using tubes down inside the intake, but I wouldn't want to put the ends of the tubes too close to the bottom of the intake. If the ends of the tubes are too close, the air/fuel mixture will get disrupted as it bounces off the floor. This is similar to a too small carb at high rpm- the flow cannot turn into the runners w/o hitting the bottom of the plenum.

All things considered, I think you'd be better off using a 4-hole spacer as thick as you have room for under the hood. But again- I have never used tubes.
