pushrod length

Ok this probably a silly question but Im trying to find the correct (geometry) pushrod length by going to 1/2 lift on the intake and adjusting the rocker arm to the middle of the valve, in the past this was easy because I have always used a solid lifter, but the problem is the lifters are hydraulic now and is collapsed from no oil pressure. is this going to make a difference once the lifters pump back up?

You can either pump up the lifter or use a solid in it's place. Make sure the solid has the same plunger hieght though.
