The only time you need shorter or longer pushrods is if you put a different rocker arm configuration on your cylinder heads. The size of the cam doesn't determine how long of pushrods to use.

The base circle of the lobes on the cam do. You can get a tool for about $6 from PAW. It looks like a mock rocker arm setup, and is very simple to use. You can't really go by the lift of the cam to determine the pushrod length.

ROCKER ARM GEOMETRY DEPENDS ON DIFFERENT FACTORS HEADS OR BLOCK BEING MILLED BASE CIRCLE OF CAM YOU CAN CHECK BY HIGHEST VALVE LIFT COMPARED TO CAM LIFT OR USEING ROLLER ROCKERS MARK CENTER OF ONE ROLLER TIP AND CENTER OF VALVE STEM SPIN ENGINE BY HAND SEE IF ROCKER MOVES TO INSIDE OF STEM AND THEN BACK TO CENTER.
